A Quick Bite: Pondicheri…An Authentic, Adventurous Taste of India

(An easy three-minute read created for people who just need great ideas on where to go eat…)

Pondicheri New York

15 West 27th Street (between Broadway & 5th Avenue)
New York, NY 10001

Craving tasty, modern Indian food? Here’s a must try:

I was invited out to Pondicheri New York by the owner and chef Anita Jaisinghani; who is straight up #girlpower! Her vibrant, flavorful food will transport you straight to India…like StarTrek “beam me up” fast. Plus, she brings the flavor for my gluten-free and vegetarian peeps; the menu is thoughtfully inclusive.

The menu vibe? Non-traditional authentic cuisine that takes inspiration from different regions of the subcontinent.

Also worth checking out is their breakfast, especially if you are craving something different yet good. I cannot WAIT to go back and try the SHRIMP & EGG DOSA with greens, fried egg and almond chutney (this is one of the gluten-free items I mentioned).

As you can probably tell, I had a great time in her spacious, welcoming eatery. Plus, it was RIGHT by the train — which is extra #winning for this baby New Yorker. Much 💜💙💜 to them for the invite! They keep the menu fresh and interesting, but here are a few examples of the kind of experience you are in for:

You can still get in on the Holi celebration, Pondicheri will have specials the whole month of March. Like HOLI DOSA: lentil dumplings with chaat sauces, lotus chips & avocado mash, parsnip pickle, eggplant pickle & raita…

HOLI FRIES: curly fries, lamb keema, chaat sauces…

Be sure to get on the Lychee martinis and the Purana (a smoky mezcal negroni)

Try a latte with BAKE LAB SYRUPS, like the miracle  moringa, vanilla & cinnamon (Moringa is called the Miracle Tree of India since it has a lot of properties known to enhance energy, lift mood & cleanse skin).

Be sure to check out their Houston locations as well!
